September 2003
We are in the process of getting a Police surgery organised when on stated days a couple of hours a week both of us will be available at the office. This will be advertised when arranged.
We are also planning an Open day where there will be bicycle postcoding, Special Constabulary recruitment and Crime prevention advice available.
Below I have listed the crime figures for January to September 2003 compared with the same time period in 2002.
A brief break down shows:
| January-September 2002 | January-September 2003 | |
| Burglary Dwelling | 16 | 17 |
Burglary Other |
32 | 46 |
| Criminal Damage | 40 | 55 |
| Theft of Motor Vehicle | 7 | 8 |
| Theft from Motor Vehicle | 37 | 34 |
| Violent Crime | 32 | 66 |
| Total | 313 | 433 |
These figures show a large rise in the number recorded assaults. A lot of these are common assaults recorded as a result of domestic disputes. Policy is that all assaults, no matter how minor, have to be recorded whether or not a complaint is made or not.
I would like to thank you for all your hard work over the last few months and look forward to seeing you at the next Neighbourhood Watch meeting,
Pete Essex . Alison Colburn.
